Heard about Densitaria and PostUrbia? "North Central City" will be both, Oh my.

The relative terms of ITP and OTP may be archaic. Perhaps the concepts of rural/semi suburban "PostUrbia" and urban "Densitaria" would be more helpful terms, especially if you'd admit that the city is for the Millennial set and not Boomers. It'd be great if you did, because we have made no attempt to rally them in our designs. See http://thebreakthrough.org/index.php/journal/issue-4/the-coming-realignment

Might such a social realignment work for a city which contains elements of a challenged "Inner Ring" (so-called Northlake) and a sturdier "First Suburb", of which Toco Hill/North Decatur represent the furthest reaches?

Does the emerging conflict of "personality" mean more in the city establishment stage (rallying a defined community of interest) than for the operation of successful city?

Does a culture in transition explain why describing the community in ITP/OTP terms seem so confusing? Even more quizzically, does this explain why talking about Republicans and Democrats in these areas make little sense?

Looking at the lesson learned in Brookhaven, do these nontraditional social descriptors explain why city-formers forced "quick-vote" tactics in order to win a referendum, (granted ITP/OTP weren't the terms of disagreement)?

Take a read of the article and consider that the only conclusion you can make about the cityhood movement here is that much would be gained at considering the future, not the present in studying the community and helping people "vote for common interest"--indeed define what is "common".
