Please help us raise money (and awareness) to defeat ALS in honor of our former colleague and friend who was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) on March 14, 2013.
In the beginning, Charlene had a sore throat and was extremely hoarse when attempting to talk. She has since retired from Druid Hills Middle School from teaching and now uses her beautiful handwriting and/or technology as her means of communication. She is an incredible teacher filled with compassion, kindness, and love. She has given much of herself and many years of her life to teach and many years of her life to teach and prepare our children for tomorrow. We must work very hard to help fight this disease and find ways to ensure that Charlene will continue to enjoy her love for playing tennis and enjoy retirement of which this disease has forced on her much earlier than she desired. ALS is a horrific disease and we encourage you to help us support an amazing person on September 21st on a walk to defeat ALS.
Please join "TEAM CHARLENE" and come walk with us at the Georgia World Congress Center-International Plaza. Registration opens at 8:30 a.m., and the Walk kicks off at 10 a.m.

Join us and meet Charlene as she is determined to be on the walk to be with us to help in our fight! If you are not able to join our team...please donate in her honor to Druid Hills Middle School a monetary donation in honor of and in celebration of someone who has given so much for so long to so many others!!
The 2.5-mile walk is a wonderful opportunity for us to unite and show Charlene how important she is to the Druid Hills community. If you are unable to participate, any donation amount to our team goal of $1,500 would be greatly appreciated!

Registration is free and each team member that raises at least $75 gets a free T-shirt. Who doesn't love a free shirt?! Family and friends are encouraged to walk too!
