Want to Honor MLK Jr. in North Druid Hills?

Friends of Kittredge Park plan to get together today from 9am to noon to remove invasive species and lay new trails.

Alan Pinsker, head of the North Druid Hills Residents Association, sent me this note about the Friends of Kittredge Park, which is getting together today to spruce up the park and honor Martin Luther King Jr.:

Please put onto your events calendar an announcement regarding our monthly work in Kittredge Park to remove invasive species and to help lay new trails throughout the park.  In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. birthday on Monday, January 16th, we are treating this month's work in the park as a community service project, from 9am to noon.  A large group of Emory University faculty and students has already committed to work with Friends of Kittredge Park, and we would welcome anyone else in the community to come join us.

The park is located behind Adams Stadium off of North Druid Hills Road (across from Target Greatland), and is accessed at the very end of street alongside the stadium, where signs will be posted for the event.  Volunteers should dress appropriately for moderate to somewhat strenous work in a park environment.  Gloves, tools and refreshments will be provided, or feel free to bring your own.
