North Druid Hills Patch could not locate this agenda or any information about Tuesday's meeting on the DeKalb County website supplying information to its citizens. When NDH Patch Editor Kiri Walton called the DeKalb County information line, she was transferred twice and left a voicemail message.

This article will be updated once a response is received about Tuesday night's meeting.

Original Story:

The DeKalb Planning Commission at its Sept. 10 meeting voted for a 60-day deferral of a vote on Fuqua Development's newest plan to redevelop the property of Scott Boulevard Baptist Church to make way for a mixed-use development. However, the Board of Commissioners have the final say on the deferral.

At the Planning Commission meeting, Fuqua Development presented its third site plan since June for the redevelopment project on the SBBC site at the intersection of North Decatur Road and Scott Boulevard.

These plans for the Decatur Crossing development had not before been shared with surrounding neighbors and representatives for the Atlanta-based development firm admitted that they would need to go back before the community to present its new plans.

The Planning Commission voted for a full cycle referral, which means the entire updated proposal will again be reviewed by the Community Council, the Planning Commission and Board of Commissioners.

The planning commission's vote was only advisory, and the county Board of Commissioners were expected to vote on the deferral at its meeting Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in Maloof Auditorium in Decatur.

However, no mention of Fuqua Development or Scott Boulevard is on the BOC's agenda. UPDATE: The Fuqua Development rezoning application deferral is on the zoning agenda, which is nowhere to be found on the county's website.

The site of the proposed mixed-use development is across the street from Selig Enterprises' redevelopment of Suburban Plaza, which will house a new Walmart Supercenter.

Good Growth DeKalb, the grassroots organization opposing the new Walmart Supercenter, is encouraging supporters to come out in full force for Tuesday's BOC meeting wearing their distinctive yellow t-shirts turned inside out.
