DeKalb Pet Owners Get Free Veterinary Services

Pet owners can attend "Healthy Pets DeKalb" on Saturday, November 16th, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Shoal Creek Park II, 3643 Glenwood Road in Decatur. The event will offer more than 400 free vaccinations provided
by a licensed veterinarian, 200 vouchers for free spay/neuters, free pet food supplied by Pet Buddies Food Pantry, among other services. No registration is necessary for this first-come, first-serve promotion by LifeLine Animal Project and Second Life.

Generously funded by Second Life, the event is geared towards decreasing the number of animals ending up in shelters by helping DeKalb pet owners who have limited access to veterinary services and pet education.

“Nearly 70,000 pets die needlessly in Atlanta each year,” said Debbie Setzer, Community Outreach Director for LifeLine.

“By improving companion animal health and providing free spay and neuters, we can significantly decrease the number of abandoned and stray animals that
end up in shelters.”
