Hired! Sabrina: A Career Profile

Sabrina first connected with WOW In-Sync in the summer of 2012. Upon meeting her, the WOW team was quickly impressed by her sincerity, patience, determination, and initiative. One of the things that made (and still makes) Sabrina unique is that from the very beginning, she took firm ownership of her training. Former Simply Biz Program Manager Will Goble remembers, “I used to receive a call from Sabrina sometimes twice a week while we were working to make sure her Vocational Rehabilitation case was opened and that her funding support was ready. She was never content to just wait for things to fall into place. Instead she maintained contact and advocated for herself. It was just awesome to see (and helpful!).”

Although she was a motivated team player from the very first day, Sabrina really blossomed during the winter 2012 “Peace” Migdovie Project with MisterMigs.Com. President Karen Lynn explains, “As we were reaching the deadline for Migdovie production to end, Sabrina truly rose to the occasion. She rescheduled appointments in order to maintain her schedule, and motivated other team members as we worked together to meet our quota.”

Sabrina has shown a willingness to be involved in many fields of employment, always with a smile on her face and a kind word for her coworkers and friends. She’s improved her self-management and attention to detail, as she never lost sight of her goals. One of the most important values that we promote at WOW is the concept of ownership. Motivation that comes from within is a powerful force, and Sabrina utilized it as key tool in succeeding through training and later employment. Along the way, she made believers out of all of us at WOW In-Sync!

This success story has now added a new chapter, as Sabrina started working at Applebee’s in May 2013. She assists in opening the restaurant and even makes ice tea, one of her favorite responsibilities at the restaurant (true for any Georgia native!). Her co-workers and supervisors offer stellar reviews of her performance, while Sabrina and her family couldn’t be prouder. Sabrina is thriving in her new position and her performance only continues to improve.

Sabrina had this to say regarding her new job, “My favorite part is helping to clean the restaurant….I like making the coffee and iced tea.”  It’s also worth noting that Sabrina is managing her own transportation to arrive at work punctually each morning, even with a schedule that spans six days each week.

We are excited to see where her path leads. One thing is for sure: this is only the beginning for Sabrina! We wish her a lifetime of success and happiness and remain committed to being here for her along the way.
