Lakeside High School is part of the DeKalb County School System. It is located in the Briarcliff area and is considered one of the better-performing public high schools in the county. It has occasionally been listed among the best high schools in the nation in Newsweek magazine. The school also has a diverse student body. About half is white, about 28 percent is black and about 19 percent is Hispanic or Asian.
