Scott Holcomb Qualifies For Re-Election

The Georgia Representative will run as the District 81 incumbent.

Georgia Representative Scott Holcomb has announced that he will seek re-election to represent the 81st House District. Holcomb sent out an email shortly after noon with the words "I'm in" in the subject line. He went on to write: I am proud to announce that I will run for re-election this year.  I want to continue to work hard on your behalf and help Georgia recognize its incredible potential.  As you may know, Representative Elena Parent and I were paired in the new District 81 as a result of the redistricting process.  She and I had agreed that it would not be in the best interests of our constituents if we were to run against each other in the primary.  Representative Parent has decided not to seek re-election.  As her friend, I am …

Two Challenge Burrell Ellis for CEO Job

Incumbent DeKalb County CEO Burrell Ellis will face at least two opponents in the July 31 Democratic primary. Gregory Adams and Jerome Edmondson have qualified to run for that office. Adams is a former DeKalb police officer, a minister and has managed seveal companies, according to his website. He is a different person from DeKalb Superior Court Judge Gregory A. Adams. Edmondson is a former law enforcement officer and is president of Edmondson Associates Business Advisors, according to his website. Qualifying ends at noon Friday. Two commissions face Democratic primary challenges. In District 4, in incumbent Sharon Barnes-Sutton (I) will face Steve Bradshaw. In District 5, incumbnet Lee May will face Kenneth L. Samuel and Andre R. White. …
