A selection of crimes from the the North Druid Hills-Briarcliff area reported to DeKalb County police over the last week.

Thousands in jewelry stolen from apartment Thousands of dollars in jewelry and other expensive items were stolen from an apartment in The Conservatory of Druid Hills on North Druid Hills Road on Wednesday, DeKalb County police said. The 36-year-old victim told police she left her apartment at about 7:15 a.m. and found it ransacked when she returned at about 8:25 a.m., the police report said. The front door was forced ajar. About $7,000 in jewelry was stolen and more than $2,000 in expensive designer bags were taken as well. Woman Stabs Man Over $10 on Shallowford Road

The victim was transported to Northside Hospital for treatment Saturday, DeKalb County police said.

A 25-year-old woman stabbed a man with a kitchen knife during an argument over $10 at a home on Shallowford Road on Saturday morning, DeKalb County police said. The 51-year-old victim said he and the woman were arguing about the money in the backyard of a home in the 2900 block of Shallowford Road at 8:15am, the police report said. The woman told the victim he owed her $10, and if he didn't hand over the money, she would stab him. She repeated herself five times, he said. When the victim told her he didn't have the money, the woman pulled the knife from her purse and stabbed him in the left shoulder. The woman put the knife back in her purse, hopped on a MARTA bus and left the scene, the report said. The victim was transported to Northside…

Man Confronts Apartment Invaders, Gets Shot in Foot

Nothing was taken from the home at Park Villa Apartments near Buford Highway early Thursday morning.

A 54-year-old man was asleep in his apartment near Buford Highway early Thursday morning when he woke to the sound of knocking at his front door. The man rose from bed, walked to the door and asked who it was. "Amigo, it's me," a voice from outside said shortly before 3am. The man opened the door and stood before a man outside holding a black revolver, DeKalb County police said.  "Give me all your [stuff]," the gun-wielding suspect said in Spanish. The man smacked the suspect's gun, and the suspect fired, shooting the man in the foot, the police report said. The suspect and another suspect fled the apartment at Park Villa Apartments, 2095 Burton Plaza Ln., on foot. Nothing was taken from the apartment. The victim was taken to Atlanta …
