Arbor Hills Apartments Renamed Viera Briarcliff After $48M Sale

The complex is now under the management of JMG Realty, an Atlanta firm.

The Arbor Hills apartment complex on North Druid Hills Road recently rebranded itself as Viera Briarcliff following a late December sale of about $48 million. The sale went through Jan. 31 from Arbor Hills Apartments Investors LLC to JMG Realty, an Atlanta firm, according to Databank, a metro Atlanta real estate research website. More to come.

Man Tries to Sell iPod from Apartment, Gets Robbed at Gunpoint

The phone, an iPad and $3,500 in cash were stolen from the apartment.

A man tried to sell his iPhone from his Arbor Hills apartment Jan. 4, but when the buyer arrived, he was carrying a handgun, demanding much more than a smartphone. The 58-year-old victim told DeKalb County police that he placed an ad on craigslist to sell his Apple iPhone 5. The suspect contacted the seller and said he wanted to buy it, the police report said. The victim told the buyer to come to his apartment in the 300 block of Druid Oaks Drive. When the suspect arrived, the victim showed him the iPhone and told him the price. The suspect said he needed to go to an ATM to get more money. The suspect returned shortly before 6 p.m., and when the victim opened the door, the suspect pointed a black 9mm pistol at the victim's forehead and …

Thief Robs Second Arbor Hills Resident at Gunpoint This Month

The last robbery at the apartment complex occurred Jan. 8. The most recent happened Jan. 13.

Another Arbor Hills Apartments resident was robbed at gunpoint Jan. 13 – the second armed robbery at the North Druid Hills complex this month, DeKalb County police said. The 18-year-old victim left his apartment in Building 19 to get his mail at 1911 Druid Oaks Dr. at about 11:25pm, the police report said. As he approached his mailbox, he saw a man standing next to an older, dark green Toyota Camry. While he was retrieving his mail, the suspect moved toward him, pointing a black handgun at him. The robber asked him what he had, searched his pockets and told him to empty his pockets, the report said. The victim only had his cell phone, which he handed to suspect. The suspect returned to his vehicle driven by another suspect, and they headed…
