Elderly Man Held at Gunpoint Inside North Druid Hills Home

Two men robbed the home in the 1500 block of Fama Drive on Friday afternoon.

Two men forced their way into an elderly man's North Druid Hills home and held him at gunpoint while they stole a number of items including several firearms Friday afternoon, DeKalb County police said. The men knocked on the side door of a 78-year-old man's home in the 1500 block of Fama Drive at about 1:15 p.m., the police report said. When the victim opened the door, the suspects forced their way in, and one of them pushed the victim onto the couch and placed a pillow over his face while the other suspect stole several items from the home. Two Robbed at Gunpoint Outside Lavista Apartments

The incident occurred outside Lavista Crossing apartment complex at about 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

Two men were robbed at gunpoint outside a Lavista Road apartment complex Thursday night, DeKalb County police said. The two victims were walking down the sidewalk in front of Lavista Crossing apartments at 3797 Lavista Road at about 8:30 p.m. when one of them noticed the two suspects walking toward them from the intersection with Hudson Road, the police report said. When they reached the suspects, one of them said, "Back up, bro! Give up all your [stuff]! Give up all your [stuff]!" One of the suspects was holding a handgun, and one of the victims handed over an iPhone. The two suspects ran into the apartment complex. FBI: Northlake Bank Robbery Part of Metro Crime Spree

The incident occurred at the Wells Fargo bank on Lavista Road on Tuesday afternoon.

The FBI is looking for a man it said robbed a series of banks and stores throughout the metro Atlanta area, including a Wells Fargo in Northlake on Tuesday afternoon. The bureau issued an arrest warrant Wednesday for Michael Jerome Winfield, 46, of Atlanta for the armed robbery of the bank at 4099 Lavista Road, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. DeKalb County's police report said the suspect walked into the bank at about 4:30 p.m., asked about opening a new account and was directed to an employee. The suspect pulled out a black handgun and placed it on the counter with the gun barrel pointed at the employee. "Put all the money in big bills in a bag, and don't put any dye pack or tracking in the bag," the suspect said. The …

QuikTrip Gas Station Robbed at Gunpoint

The incident at the North Druid Hills Road gas station occurred Monday morning.

A man robbed the QuikTrip gas station on North Druid Hills Road at gunpoint Monday morning, DeKalb County police said. A store clerk told police the suspect walked into the store at 2375 North Druid Hills Road and made himself a hot dog at about 5:30 a.m., the police report said. The man approached the counter as if he was a customer. "Is that all?" the clerk said. The suspect opened his jacket and showed the clerk a black handgun with a wooden handle. "Give me all your money," the suspect said. The clerk took about $50 from the register, put it in a bag and gave it to the suspect, who fled behind the store.

Woman Carjacked at Gunpoint Outside Ethiopian Restaurant

The incident occurred Saturday morning outside Queen of Sheba Ethiopian Restaurant on Woodcliff Drive.

A woman was carjacked at gunpoint outside Queen of Sheba Ethiopian Restaurant on Woodcliff Drive on Saturday morning, DeKalb County police said. The woman, 29, of Smyrna was parked in front of the restaurant at 1594 Woodcliff Drive and was in the process of leaving when she was approached by two men with a gun at about 5:14 a.m., the police report said. The men ordered her out of her car, a black 2007 Volkswagen Jetta, got in and drove away, headed south on Briarcliff Road. About $1,000 worth of shoes and $500 in purses in the car were also lost in the robbery.

More than $1,400 was stolen from the North Decatur store Sunday night.

An armed robber held up the Family Dollar in North Decatur on Sunday night, demanding money and diapers before fleeing, DeKalb County police said. The suspect walked into the store at 2615 North Decatur Road just before 8 p.m. and approached a clerk with his hands in his pockets, the police report said. He grabbed the clerk, and she told police she saw a black handgun in his waistband or pocket. "Come over here," the suspect said, pushing her toward the front of the store. Man Robbed at Gunpoint Outside Northlake Mall

The 23-year-old victim was robbed in the parking lot Wednesday morning.

UPDATE, 12:15 p.m.: Carly Dennis, who manages public relations for Northlake Mall, said Friday morning the armed robbery did not happen at Northlake Mall but rather across Briarcliff Road on Publix property near a bus stop. North Druid Hills-Briarcliff Patch is confirming this with DeKalb County police. An Atlanta man was robbed at gunpoint in Northlake Mall's parking lot Wednesday morning, DeKalb County police said. A man carrying a black handgun confronted the 23-year-old victim and told him to empty his pockets and turn away at 7:15 a.m., the police report said. The victim gave the man his wallet and his iPhone, and the suspect ran toward Lavista Road. The victim was not injured.

It's time people stand up and say enough and if that means 20 people jumping a bad guy during the commission of a crime or people calling 911 as soon as they see something suspect. News Nearby: Man Shot, Another Robbed at Rockbridge Road Walmart

Saturday morning attack occurred in the shopping center's parking lot, and police are looking for two suspects.

Gwinnett County Police are looking for two suspects who shot a man and robbed another outside the Walmart at 1825 Rockbridge Road on Saturday around 2:50 a.m.   The suspects were armed with a semi-automatic handgun, possibly a .40-calibre Glock, according to a police statement. They approached two separate shoppers in the parking lot of the store, shooting one, a 35-year-old male, in the leg when "he did not understand their demands and continued to walk towards the store," the report said. The other victim, a 20-year-old-male, handed over his keys, wallet and cell phone. The suspects took his car and left the scene. Man Robbed at Gunpoint Outside Apartment

About $250 in cash and a cell phone was stolen from the 21-year-old victim.

A resident of the Highland Lake apartment complex was robbed at gunpoint while walking to his car Jan. 5, DeKalb County police said. The 21-year-old victim was approaching his car in the parking lot when he was confronted by the suspect sometime before 8 p.m., the police report said. "Get on the ground," the suspect said. The victim felt what he thought was a hangun on the right side of his rib cage, so he got down on his knees and elbows. "Empty your pockets," the suspect said.
