Boedecker will go on to face Democratic incumbent Scott Holcomb in November.
Chris Boedecker defeated Carla Roberts in the GOP primary for state House District 81. With 13 of 14 precincts counted, Boedecker defeated Roberts by a margin of 71 percent to 29 percent. Boedecker will face Democratic incumbent Scott Holcomb on Nov. 6 in the general election. Early in the campaign, Boedecker charged that Roberts was not a legal resident of the district, and therefore should not be allowed to seek the office. However, the Georgia Office of Administrative Standards rejected the challenge.

Both House Republican candidates react to the ruling.
A residency challenge in the state House District 81 GOP primary has failed, allowing Carla Roberts to remain on the ballot. Roberts' opponent, fellow Republican Chris Boedecker, was seeking to have Roberts disqualified from the ballot by arguing she was not a legal resident of the district. A ruling issued on Friday, July 6, by the Office of State Administrative Hearings, ruled that Roberts is a legal resident, and thus allowed to seek the seat. "In open court, Mr. Boedeker admitted to hiring a private investigator, sending people by my house, snooping through details of my personal life and even getting into my water bills," Roberts said. "He ignored the law, ignored the facts, and acted like a schoolyard bully. "Mr. Boedeker owes the …

The Republican statehouse candidate also alleges intimidation tactics.
Carla Roberts, a Republican candidate for House District 81, dismissed a challenge from her opponent that she doesn't actually live in the district as "frivolous" and "ridiculous." The other Republican seeking the seat, Chris Boedecker, has filed a residency challenge to Roberts' candidacy, charging she has not lived in the district for a full year and therefore can't legally run for the office. "His ridiculous accusation is that I don’t live where I live," Roberts said. "For the record: I live at 3297 Rose Ridge in unincorporated DeKalb County. I have lived in DeKalb County for more than 20 years." Boedecker is charging that, as of June 1, 2012, Roberts declared a homestead exemption for 2832 Hawthorne Drive, which is just outside of the …

One of the Republicans in the race says his opponent is not a legal resident of the district.
Chris Boedecker, a Republican running for House District 81, has filed a residency challenge against Carla Roberts, the other GOP candidate, charging that Roberts is not a legal resident of the district. Boedecker filed the challenge Friday morning with the Secretary of State. Boedecker said that, as of June 1, Roberts declared a homestead exemption for 2832 Hawthorne Dr., which Boedecker asserts is outside of District 81 boundaries. He also said that Roberts owns another piece of property at 3297 Rose Ridge, which is inside the district. However, Boedecker is asserting that Roberts has failed to make the address her permanent home for at least one year before the election. Under Georgia law, candidates wishing to hold office as state …

Sounds like Mr. Boedecker would fit right in with the paranoid hypocritical Republican majority currently running the Gold Dome insane asylum. Hopefully, he will not be given that chance.   more ›
