Sophia Academy Close to $2.5 Million Fundraising Goal
The school has been helped by a series of grants from anonymous donors.
An anonymous $150,000 gift to Sophia Academy has helped put a challenge grant campaign 80 percent toward its goal of raising about $2.5 million. At a demanding point in our economy, the school’s campaign to fund a multipurpose building had stalled. But a donor offered a $500,000 challenge grant to pay for the gym/auditorium/chapel – with a condition of raising the remaining amount by January 2012. These contributions inspired another anonymous donor to challenge $50,000 as well.
