Man Robbed at Gunpoint Outside Apartment
About $250 in cash and a cell phone was stolen from the 21-year-old victim.
A resident of the Highland Lake apartment complex was robbed at gunpoint while walking to his car Jan. 5, DeKalb County police said. The 21-year-old victim was approaching his car in the parking lot when he was confronted by the suspect sometime before 8 p.m., the police report said. "Get on the ground," the suspect said. The victim felt what he thought was a hangun on the right side of his rib cage, so he got down on his knees and elbows. "Empty your pockets," the suspect said. The victim surrendered his wallet containing $250 in cash, his cell phone and his car key to the suspect. He turned his head and saw the robber was carrying a black or dark gray handgun.
