Oak Grove's Sprig Caters to Neighborhood Families

Children eat free at the new restaurant on Monday evenings. It opened in October and is starting its own farmers' market.

What do Superman toys, pepper cream pasta, Transformer action figures and iron-skillet pork chops have in common? They can all be found at Sprig, Oak Grove’s newest neighborhood eatery. Owners Jennifer and Daniel Morrison said that Sprig, which opened in October, aims to provide area families with a kid-friendly, quality dining destination. “We want an atmosphere that when you bring your child here you can have them occupied with something other than a video game,” Daniel Morrison said. The toys are not Sprig’s only effort to cater to its youngest clientele. On Monday evenings, kids eat for free from 5pm - 6:30pm, and they can choose from the restaurant’s child-friendly, healthy dishes, which include grilled cheese with apple slices and …

Owner is out of touch with customer service. Doesn't understand what is going on in his own restaurant. Call ahead to be sure no group affair is scheduled; otherwise small space will immediately make you dining experience unpleasant. Owner needs learn to be customer friendly; but it pretty much has become a me-me world with no appreciation for serving people.   more ›
