Web Designer Used Former Boyer Domain to Endorse Challenger

A man who owns the Web domain for a former website for Commissioner Elaine Boyer posted an endorsement for Larry Danese on the old site on election day July 31.

If you clicked on a link to DeKalb County Commissioner Elaine Boyer's website on election night last week and found yourself staring at an endorsement for her challenger, your computer wasn't malfunctioning. A former website for the District 1 commissioner carried an endorsement of her primary challenger Larry Danese – who she trounced in the July 31 primary – with the line: "Replace Elaine Boyer" and "It's Time for Better Representation." Danese posted a note on his website on election night, saying the endorsement was the work of a web designer, Dave Carlson, who has worked for Boyer and owns the old website domain. Boyer Crushes GOP Challenger in District 1

The DeKalb County commissioner handily defeated GOP challenger Larry Danese in Tuesday's primary.

Elaine Boyer, a long-standing veteran of the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners' District 1 seat, defeated her only GOP challenger Tuesday. Boyer trounced Larry Danese in the Republican primary, taking more than 75 percent of the vote, according to preliminary returns. Out of 13,363 votes counted early Wednesday morning, Boyer had 10,178. More than 5,000 absentee votes had yet to be counted, but Boyer appeared headed toward certain victory. And since she has no Democratic challengers in the November general election, her primary victory will stand. Boyer ran on a platform of fiscal and governmental conservatism, saying she has voted against millage rate increases for 20 years and worked to reduce the size of DeKalb County's government. …
