The store will only have 16 parking spaces.
A second McDonald's location on North Druid Hills Road near I-85 is definitely in the works, according to Tomorrow's News Today. The news outlet said the restaurant, which will replace the old Atlanta Diner space, will only have 16 parking spaces. From the story: Early on, there was speculation that this restaurant would be drive-thru only, but based on signage on location displaying a dining room and interior seating, that may have been wrong. There is no doubt that this McDonald's will be on the small side, as I've confirmed the restaurant will only have sixteen parking spaces. Demolition appeared to be complete as of Sunday, so knowing how fast the Golden Arches can be, I'd say this restaurant could be open as soon as late July or …

Eisenberg & Bogdanoff Cosmetic & Family Dentistry said they plan to stay in the area even if they're forced out of their office and replaced by a new McDonald's restaurant.
Two Briarcliff dentists said Monday they will continue to serve the community even if they're pushed out of their office of nearly three decades to make way for a McDonald's restaurant. Eisenberg & Bogdanoff Cosmetic & Family Dentistry posted to North Druid Hills-Briarcliff Patch to say that they're not involved in McDonald's plans to open a location at 2706 Clairmont Road adjacent to Briarcliff Shopping Center. From their post: As many of you are aware, McDonalds is trying to open a drive through restaurant at 2706 Clairmont Road where we have maintained our Family and Cosmetic Dentistry Practice since 1983. We want to assure you all that we neither instigated nor knew about this action until 5 weeks ago. We were not part of this process …

The international fast food chain plans to open a new spot with a drive-thru window across from Briarcliff Shopping Center.
After announcing plans to replace the old Atlanta Diner on North Druid Hills Road, McDonald's said they also hope to open a new restaurant with a drive-thru window across from Briarcliff Shopping Center – the international fast food chain's second location on Clairmont Road. From Tomorrow's News Today, which first reported this story: A preliminary meeting about the planned McDonald's was held earlier this week and was attended by both homeowners and representatives from McDonald's. As it stands now, McDonald's is expected to file paperwork in the coming days requesting a special land use permit to enable them to have the drive-thru windows they need for the restaurant. If all goes well, this request will be heard at the next Community …

The fast food behemoth may replace the decades-old diner spot on North Druid Hills Road with a drive-in restaurant.
Did you dig Atlanta Diner? Yes, no? If so, do you like McDonald's? Because that's what may replace the shuttered diner spot on North Druid Hills Road, according to Tomorrow's News Today. McDonald's has applied to DeKalb County with a request to reduce on-site parking, the popular development blog reported. From the post: As I noted when the Atlanta Diner closed, the parcel is rather small, in my mind limiting its uses. I had hoped, and judging from comments and emails, others did too, that a chain like Bojangles' might take space. Charlotte-based Bojangles' has plenty of OTP locations, but has thus far been unable to crack into the intown market. McDonald's has applied to DeKalb County for a reduction in the amount of onsite parking, …

A meeting is being held Tuesday night on the rezoning.
A new McDonald's may soon take shape in the North Druid Hills-Briarcliff area if the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners gives its approval. The fast food company has applied for two rezoning permits with the county, one to construct a new property and the other to allow drive-through service at the new property. This new McDonald's would look like the picture at the right, which is a common redesign for many locations in the metro area. It would be located at 3885 Buford Highway and 3316 Clairmont Road, which is near the Skye Hill Kroger and not far from an existing McDonald's location on Buford Higway. That location may close to make way for this one. Considering the less-than-stellar reviews that it has on Google, this may very well be…
