Shop for Cause at Whole Foods Market Briarcliff

The grocery store is sponsoring a "5% Day" to benefit local environmental nonprofit EarthShare of Georgia.

Whole Foods Market Briarcliff is holding a 5% Day to benefit EarthShare of Georgia. On Wednesday, April 10, 5 percent of the store’s net sales will be donated to this local organization, which works toward the day when our air, land and water are clean, abundant and healthy. EarthShare of Georgia raises money through employee giving for more than 60 environmental member organizations dedicated to addressing environmental health risks, restoring natural habitats, protecting wildlife, reducing global warming and more. Customers can help support this organization by shopping on April 10. Whole Foods is also offering a “carbon credit” incentive to encourage customers to stock up for spring. Get a Free Growler at Whole Foods on Saturday

With a purchase of draft beer, customers will receive a free 64-oz. growler.

WHAT: On Saturday, Jan. 12, Whole Foods Market Briarcliff will celebrate a one day sale on 64-oz. growlers. Customers will receive a free 64-oz. reusable growler bottle with the purchase of their choice of draft beer (64oz.). The reusable growler bottles, regularly priced at $4 each, are used to schlep fresh beer from the store to home in a large, reusable container with minimal impact on the environment. Customers that return with their growlers can get refills for $5 to $20, depending on the beer chosen. The store boasts four taps, serving craft beer including locally-made Wild Heaven Ode to Mercy. Skyland Trail, Whole Foods Team Up for Pumpkin Fairy Garden Class

The mental health organization and the grocer helped children create fairy homes inside pumpkins on Monday.

On Monday, Skyland Trail and the West Paces Whole Foods teamed up for the organizations' annual Pumpkin Fairy Garden Class. Held during fall break, the event offered children an opportunity to participate in a craft project led by Skyland Trail's art therapist, Susie Sherrill, and horticultural therapist intern, Barb Bohannon. The Skyland Trail specialists helped children create a fairy home inside a pumpkin. Each child left with their very own miniature world where fairies are welcomed. Using a holistic approach, Skyland Trail treats adults and adolescents suffering from mental illness. It's recovery program includes expressive arts therapy, which is why the nonprofit is proud to partner with Whole Foods for this annual arts and crafts …

Whole Foods Briarcliff to Give Out Free Beer Container for Sunday Alcohol Sales

On Sunday, May 6, Whole Foods Market Briarcliff will celebrate Sunday alcohol sales with a one day sale on 64-oz Growlers. Customers will receive a free 64-oz. reusable Growler bottle with the purchase of their choice of draft beer (64 oz.). The reusable bottles, regularly priced at $4 each, are used to schlep fresh beer from the store to home in a large, reusable container with minimal impact on the environment. Customers who return with their Growlers can get refills for $5 to $20, depending on the beer chosen. The store boasts four taps, serving craft beer including locally-made Wild Heaven Ode to Mercy. Whole Foods Donating Sales Percentage to Druid Hills High

If you shop at the store on Briarcliff Road on Wednesday, 5 percent of all sales will go to the school.

Whole Foods Market on Briarcliff Road is giving you an opportunity to make some money for Druid Hills High School. The grocery store is donating 5 percent of its Wednesday sales to the school. Here's an email from the school's PTA sent out to parents: Parents – Students – So, if you like organic food and stuff, make sure you stop by Wednesday.

Briarcliff Whole Foods Honoring Local Pork Farm for Humane Animal Treatment

The grocery store is hosting a dinner Friday where shoppers will be able to meet some of the farmers and chow down. The price to reserve is $20.

Just got this in from the people over at Whole Foods Briarcliff. It seems one of their (relatively) local pork producers got an award for its humane treatment of animals. If you've got $20, you can chow down on some of their foods and meet some of the farmers Thursday: Whole Foods Market Briarcliff is celebrating local vendor – Thompson Farms – who has received a 5+, the highest rating from Global Animal Partnership. Thompson Farms is an all-natural pork producer that raises free-range pigs on 1,000 acres in southern Brooks County, Georgia. To achieve a Step 5+ rating, a farm’s animals must be born and live their entire lives on one farm, pigs and cattle must be slaughtered on the farm, and chickens can only be transported short distances…

Whole Foods on Briarcliff to Donate to Local Seniors

The grocery store will give 5 percent of its net sales to Senior Connections on Jan. 11, which it's dubbed "Community Giving Day."

"What a great way to start 2012!" said Debra Furtado, CEO of Senior Connections, when she learned her local non-profit organization was designated to be the recipient of the Whole Foods' Community Giving Day on Jan. 11 at the store's Briarcliff location, the first Community 5% Day of the year. Senior Connections, which seeks to maximize independence for seniors through advocacy, in-home services and meal deliveries, will receive 5 percent of the day’s net sales at the Whole Foods Market on Briarcliff Road. Denzel Washington at Whole Foods on Briarcliff?

A few tipsters told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution gossip column that Denzel Washington has been shopping at the grocery store while shooting a film in Atlanta.

If you like Whole Foods Market on Briarcliff Road, keep your eyes peeled the next time you're shopping. That guy taking the last bag of bagels–right as you were reaching for it–could be Denzel Washington. True story. Buried at the bottom of a recent Jennifer Brett column in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution was a mention that several tipsters told her Washington was seen shopping at the grocery recently. He's going to here shooting a movie later this fall called Flight. With this and Teen Wolf and the Jennifer Garner movie, the North Druid Hills-Briarcliff area is like a revolving door for Hollywood.

Grocer Raising Money for Briarlake Elementary Gardens

Whole Foods Market on Briarcliff Road will give 5 percent of net sales to the school Sept. 21.

Whole Foods Market Briarcliff is holding a 5% Day to benefit a school garden at Briarlake Elementary School. Briarcliff Whole Foods Raising Money, Offering Free Seminars

The company's grant program will dole out money to local schools, districts and garden-related nonprofits.

Whole Kids Foundation, a new Whole Foods Market-funded nonprofit, is teaming up with FoodCorps to improve children’s nutrition and fight obesity by building school gardens. Shoppers are encouraged to donate at store checkout through Sept. 14 or online at www.wholekidsfoundation.org. As of Aug. 28, Whole Kids Foundation has raised more than $708,000 for the School Garden Grant program, with the goal of reaching $2 million by the end of September to provide 1,000 gardens nationwide. The garden grants will be awarded to local schools, districts and garden-related nonprofit organizations through an online grant process.
