On Monday, Skyland Trail and the West Paces Whole Foods teamed up for the organizations' annual Pumpkin Fairy Garden Class. Held during fall break, the event offered children an opportunity to participate in a craft project led by Skyland Trail's art therapist, Susie Sherrill, and horticultural therapist intern, Barb Bohannon. The Skyland Trail specialists helped children create a fairy home inside a pumpkin. Each child left with their very own miniature world where fairies are welcomed. Using a holistic approach, Skyland Trail treats adults and adolescents suffering from mental illness. It's recovery program includes expressive arts therapy, which is why the nonprofit is proud to partner with Whole Foods for this annual arts and crafts …

The grocery store is hosting a dinner Friday where shoppers will be able to meet some of the farmers and chow down. The price to reserve is $20.
Just got this in from the people over at Whole Foods Briarcliff. It seems one of their (relatively) local pork producers got an award for its humane treatment of animals. If you've got $20, you can chow down on some of their foods and meet some of the farmers Thursday: Whole Foods Market Briarcliff is celebrating local vendor – Thompson Farms – who has received a 5+, the highest rating from Global Animal Partnership. Thompson Farms is an all-natural pork producer that raises free-range pigs on 1,000 acres in southern Brooks County, Georgia. To achieve a Step 5+ rating, a farm’s animals must be born and live their entire lives on one farm, pigs and cattle must be slaughtered on the farm, and chickens can only be transported short distances…

A few tipsters told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution gossip column that Denzel Washington has been shopping at the grocery store while shooting a film in Atlanta.
If you like Whole Foods Market on Briarcliff Road, keep your eyes peeled the next time you're shopping. That guy taking the last bag of bagels–right as you were reaching for it–could be Denzel Washington. True story. Buried at the bottom of a recent Jennifer Brett column in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution was a mention that several tipsters told her Washington was seen shopping at the grocery recently. He's going to here shooting a movie later this fall called Flight. With this and Teen Wolf and the Jennifer Garner movie, the North Druid Hills-Briarcliff area is like a revolving door for Hollywood.
