UUCA isn't nondenominational. Unitarian Universalism is a world-wide denomination, with European roots that date back to the Protestant reformation. UUCA is a member of the Boston-based Unitarian Universalist Association. At UUCA, individuals and families gather to worship, to learn, and to work for social justice under the leadership of ordained Unitarian Universalist ministers.
With its historical roots in the Christian and Jewish traditions, Unitarian Universalism is a religion that keeps an open mind to the religious questions people have struggled with in all times and places.
Unitarian Universalists may subscribe to positions on faith derived from a variety of religious traditions: Judaism, Christianity, Buddhism, naturalism, atheism or agnosticism. And UUs may call themselves religious humanists, liberal Christians, or world religionists.
