Fuqua Development Reveals Designs for Decatur Crossing

The retail company also acquired 10 homes along Barton Way for the project.

Fuqua Development has unveiled its latest designs for Decatur Crossing, a mixed-use retail center at the site of Scott Boulevard Baptist Church in North Decatur.

The project at the intersection of Scott Boulevard and North Decatur Road seems to have expanded since it was first proposed as the company also acquired 10 homes along adjacent Barton Way, according to the Medlock Area Neighborhood Association's blog, which covered a recent community meeting with the company and local officials.

The center was initially a 40,000-square foot retail center, but it will also now include 200 apartments over five stories.

Decatur Crossing would sit directly across North Decatur Road from a redeveloped Suburban Plaza, including a new Walmart Supercenter that has been criticized by some nearby residents.

Fuqua Development's website said it hopes to have Decatur Crossing completed by spring of 2014.
