Whistleblower: Briarlake Road Project Contract Denial Was Act of Retaliation

The whistle-blower sued DeKalb County and was granted the project contract.

A man who went undercover to help send two DeKalb County employees to jail for extortion now believes he is the victim of retaliation.

G.S. Construction CEO Alessandro Salvo thinks his construction company may not have been awarded the job of replace aging water lines along Henderson and Briarlake roads, although he was the lowest bidder, because of he and his father's assistance to the FBI to expose a couple of corrupt DeKalb County employees, according to a report from WSB-TV.

County staff recommended two other companies to county commissioners when it came time to vote to award the contract, which would ultimately costing taxpayers an extra $274,151.

Salvo sued the county and the contract has now been awarded to Salvo's company.
