When Do You Take Down Your Tree?

It's a ritual that differs for everyone, just like when the tree goes up for the season: when does it go down again?

In our house, we put up our Christmas tree, an artificial white one with glitter on the branches, sometime around early- to mid-December. However, it does not come down until after New Year's Day. Tradition for the first day of a new year dictates that we must change our calendars right away, but the tree can stay up just a little longer. Maybe it's because it's hard work to get it all disassembled and put away, or maybe it's because we want to hold on to the festivities a little longer.

What do you do with your Christmas tree? Is it done because of tradition, superstition, necessity or something else? Let us know in the comments.
