The victim said she left her house on December 19 at 10:30 am. Her daughter got home around 8:30 pm and noticed their dogs were outside, which was unusual. The victim returned soon after that and noticed items missing and the basement door was opened using a hidden key outside. As the victim and her daughter talked to police, the daughter said she knew who the suspect was because they had called her at 7:30 pm asking if she was home, maybe checking to see if the house was empty.

The items missing included an HP laptop, a Wii game console, an Xbox 360 game console, gold jewelry items worth $4,000 and a Canon camera worth $500.

A witness who was jogging on Springbrook Drive saw two people running ahead of him to an unknown location. They dropped a small bag. As the witness started back to his house, he saw a man wearing a black shirt getting into a dark van and driving away. He picked up the bag, which contained part of the Xbox game system that had been taken, and gave it back to the daughter.

The suspects are juveniles, so their names cannot be released, although the daughter did know them and where they live.

The homeowners left at 8:30 am that day and returned at 9 pm to discover they had been burglarized. Both doors were locked and deadbolted, but a rear bedroom window was broken with a rock. Items taken were a 32” flat-screen TV and an Xbox from the living room and a 26” flat-screen TV from the bedroom. Both rooms were ransacked.

The victim said he got home from work to see his carport door was open and his alarm was sounding. He entered his house and saw the back door forced open too and items missing. Suspects potentially jumped over a fence in the backyard to get in the back door. Several glass bottles at the location had been moved around. Inside the house, many drawers were open and items were on the floor. Items missing include a 46” plasma TV, a 42” inch flat-screen TV, a laptop, a DVD player, three Bulova watches, a Seiko watch and two Kenneth Cole watches.

A resident of the Misty Creek Apartments (3258 Misty Creek Drive) noticed their neighbor’s front door was open because of a burglary on December 20, police said.

The resident told the apartment’s maintenance man that the front door was forced open. About ten minutes after that, the homeowner arrived, saying she left at 6:30 am and returned when the maintenance man notified her of the problem around 3:20 pm. The only item that was taken was her TV.

Another burglary at Misty Creek

Another resident of Misty Creek Apartments went shopping and returned to discover a burglary on December 21, police said.

The woman left at 2 pm to go shopping and returned at 3:30 to see her front door was open and damaged. She looked around her house and saw that her 32” flat-screen TV was missing from the living room.
