Rep. Scott Holcomb Is Victim of Car Break-In

Rep. Holcomb, who lives in the Henderson Mill area, had his car broken into, continuing a recent streak of break-ins in the neighborhood.

State Rep. Scott Holcomb (D-District 82) is the most recent victim of centered around the Henderson Mill area.

Holcomb, who lives with his family in the area, said he was home when he heard a noise this morning and went to investigate. He found the passenger front window broken, continuing a pattern seen in some of the other break-ins. The unknown suspect had taken some electronics from his glove compartment and a DVD player from under the back seat that the family used to entertain their kids on car trips.

"What really gets me is that they got glass over the child seats in the back of my car," he said. "Despicable, really."

Holcomb suspects that the person, or people, behind this string of break-ins does them on foot.

"My guess is that the perpetrator is someone who is walking with a backpack and puts the stolen items in the backpack and takes off. A car would seem to be too risky since ID would be easy if someone saw the license plate, and a closing car door can can be heard," he said.

His family is alright, but shaken by this incident, and he hopes that the police can catch the perpetrator(s) soon.
